Storm Causes Flooding in Old Town Alexandria: Police
The normal 5 p.m. high tide combined with the storm resulted in flooding.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Police reported flooding at Prince and King Streets near the Old Town Alexandria waterfront resulting from the thunderstorms passing through the area Thursday.
Police urge residents to avoid caution in the area and to not walk or drive through flooded areas.
The storm combined with regular 5 p.m. high tides at the waterfront resulted in the flooding, according to an Alexandria Police Department spokesperson.

Alexandria police did not report other damages aside from the flooding. In bordering Fairfax County, police, fire and VDOT responders reported areas affected by storm damage.
