Fairfax County police urged drivers to treat traffic lights like four-way stop signs, avoid high water and not touch a downed power line. The Fire Department said downed lines can energize other objects, including fences, cars and trucks, buildings, bushes and trees and telephone/television cables.
To report a downed power line, call Dominion Power at 1-866-366-4357 or online, or NOVEC at 1-888-335-0500 or online.
