Wegmans Confirmed To Open In Alexandria
It may be take a few years for construction, but Alexandria is getting a Wegmans.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Wegman's, one of the area's favorite grocery chains, will make its debut in the City of Alexandria. Wegmans has signed a lease to open a store at Hoffman Town Center, Washington Business Journal reports.
Reports of Wegmans being in talks with the real estate developer surfaced in May. The grocery store will be part of real estate developer Stonebridge's mixed-use project. The developer anticipates Wegmans construction will begin in early 2019 have part completed by 2021.
The 84,000 square-foot store will be on the second floor at the corner of Stovall and Mandeville Streets. The development will also include other retail space and a 775,000 square-foot residential building with about 30 condos, 400 apartments and 200 senior units.

Other Wegman stores in Northern Virginia include Kingstowne, Fairfax, Sterling, Leesburg, Woodbridge and Gainesville. Another is under construction in Chantilly, and DC is expected to get the grocery store in 2022.
