Here are the top three in Roanoke today:
- Roanoke Valley SPCA mourned the loss of trailblazing actress and lifelong animal lover, Betty White. She supported animal-related nonprofits and adopted many rescued animals herself. A spokesperson from the SPCA said she was devastated to hear of White's passing but hopes that her love of animals will inspire others to start getting involved. (WSLS 10)
- The Least of These Ministry seeks volunteers for a warming bus. The bus gives temporary shelter to those in need during the cold. It runs from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. for warmth, sleep, snacks, and more. (WDBJ7)
- A Roanoke man was robbed and then was charged with murder in Bedford County. The series of events occurred late Friday into early Saturday. The man also faces counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possessing a firearm after having been convicted of a felony. (Lynchburg News and Advance)

- The Southwest Virginia Wildlife Center of Roanoke admitted two mature Bald Eagles late last night, a male from Charlotte Court House and a female from Marion. The female unfortunately didn't make it through the night, but they are fighting to save the life of the male eagle. (Facebook)
- Some of the areas west and north of Roanoke are currently under a winter storm warning starting tonight. The Wildlife Center of Roanoke has gotten reports of increased feeder activity in the New River Valley, and they urge people to clean out bird feeders and stock them up. (Facebook)
- The Fortunato Restaurant is now reopened after the holiday. They wish everyone an awesome 2022! (Instagram)
