• GMS girls repeat at Cosmopolitan meet, Ava Poindexter takes first in five events (salemtimes-register.com) — Glenvar Middle School’s Lady Highlanders just kept their undefeated season rolling by winning a second straight Cosmopolitan Invitational track title, powered by standout performances from Ava and Maya Poindexter. Ava swept five events and earned top meet honors, while several Glenvar boys also placed high, highlighting strong depth across the program.
   

• Emily Tull named 40th recipient of Don Holliday Memorial Scholarship (wset.com) — A Glenvar High School student, Carma Ferguson, has been awarded a special $10,000 Don Holliday Memorial scholarship honoring the tournament’s founding fathers. Ferguson, a multi-sport Glenvar athlete and active volunteer, will study nursing at Radford University/Carilion, while another Roanoke County student, Emily Tull of Cave Spring, received the main four-year scholarship.
