- The Roanoke Police Department announced that one of its police dogs has passed away. K9 officer Gunnar has worked for the department since 2013 and he specialized in the detection of explosives. He went to live with his partner, Sgt. Barber, after his retirement in 2021. Gunnar was beloved by the department, the community, and his family. (WSLS 10)
- A man who was found dead on the street Sunday has been identified. According to officials with the Roanoke Police Department, William A. Dungee Jr. was found at the 3300 block of Ferncliff Avenue Northwest. Currently, nobody has been arrested but police are conducting a full homicide investigation. (WDBJ7)
- Two individuals are currently recovering at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital following a shooting. The incident occurred at the 500 block of Mountain Avenue SW on Tuesday where multiple shots were reportedly fired. Police report the incident seems to be isolated; they have not arrested anyone.
