- With more demands for services than ever, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia have big plans for a new grant. The organization will be launching in Roanoke County and Salem, offering after-school care, tutoring, and summer programs for local students. The club received the grant from the Virginia Department of Education, totaling over $786,000 per year for three years (WDBJ7)
- Four people were hospitalized after a house fire near Raleigh Court early on Wednesday. Two individuals were taken to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries, while the other two were taken for evaluation of smoke inhalation. A dog and a cat were also rescued. The fire was quickly isolated, contained, and extinguished; the cause has not yet been determined. (WDBJ7)
- The Roanoke Ballet Theatre is preparing for their spooky Halloween show, "Dracula," on Oct. 30. (WSLS 10)
