The Mount Tabor Ruritan Club is sponsoring the 37th Annual Blacksburg 4th of July Parade. There will be floats, bicycles, wagons, marchers, walkers, antique/classic cars, race cars, horses, fire engines, scouts, bands, sports teams, etc. 
Beginning at 6 p.m., the Blacksburg Parks &amp; Recreation Department will have music, food and entertainment near the Blacksburg Recreation Center, ending with fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
ROUTE: Beginning at Midtown Blacksburg and Eheart Street SE. Parade will end on Alumni Mall, near Tech’s Drillfield.

Botetourt County Historical Society & Museum, Inc

Paint Fincastle is an art event open to both student and adult artists of all levels on Saturday June 6, 2026 (rain date June 7).It is sponsored by the Botetourt County Historical Society, Inc. and Open Studios-Botetourt. “We feel this is an excellent opportunity to share the rich history of both Fincastle and Botetourt and our country’s 250th anniversary by creating works of art of the many historic buildings” says Open Studios-Botetourt Artist, Cheryl Lackey. Visitors are invited to stop by all day during the event to see what the artists are creating.
Paint Fincastle participants will check in at the Botetourt County Museum of History and Culture at 26 East Main Street in Fincastle from 9-10am.They will then paint and/or sketch around town from 10am - 3pm.There will be a reception and sharing of artwork created that day from 3-4pm on the porch of the museum. All are welcome to attend.
The number of participating artists is limited with registration requested by June 4.Fees are $12 for adults and $7 for students. Registration forms can be picked up at the museum or by emailing openstudiosbotetourtinfo@gmail.com.Registration can then be completed by mail or in person at the museum. 12:30 p.m. Shotgun Start (all golfers start at the same time on different holes around the course)
~5:00 p.m. – $1,000,000 shootout takes place at the conclusion of play
The 4 people closest to the pin on the par 3s qualify to take 1 swing from 165 yards out on the fairway of #18, if they make it, they win!
~5:15 p.m. – Happy Hour on the patie with awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places, closest to the pins and long drive prizes, raffle prize!

Each year, we care for nearly 2,800 wild patients—including threatened and endangered species—and we need your help to continue this vital work. This year’s gala is more than just a night out; it’s a celebration of our shared commitment to wildlife conservation and rehabilitation. Proceeds from the event directly support our efforts to provide expert medical care to injured and orphaned animals, deliver public education programs that inspire coexistence with wildlife, train future conservationists, and conduct critical disease research in partnership with colleges and universities. Your support also helps us promote the protection of Virginia’s wild habitats and biodiversity. As a nonprofit, we rely on compassionate individuals like you to keep this mission alive. Let’s raise a glass—and raise the bar—for wildlife care and conservation.
At the 2026 Night Owl on the Town Gala you will:
6 p.m. – Try our signature cocktail and meet our amazing wildlife ambassadors during cocktail hour like a Red-tailed Hawk (Tuskegee), Great Horned Owl (Chessie), American Kestrel (Capt.
