The forum will address the three amendments that relate to the specific items referenced in the City Plan 2040:

  • Permitting “accessory apartments” in all residential zoning districts throughout the City, addressing the need for affordable housing and opportunities for people to age in place.
  • Creating accessory uses for both “electric vehicle charging stations” and “solar energy systems,” to embrace new energy efficient technologies.
  • Eliminating the minimum parking requirements in all zoning districts throughout the City, to avoid requiring parking that is unnecessary and creates large, seldom used parking lots.
