The City of Roanoke is seeking applications from those interested in serving on the Star City Strong Recovery and Resiliency Advisory Panel.  This panel will make recommendations to the City Council regarding the expenditure of $64.5 million in funds received by the City through the American Rescue Plan Act.   Interested residents may apply for consideration at www.roanokeva.gov/council. Under the “Council-Appointed Bodies” link on the left side of the page, select “Application Form.” Applicants should indicate “Committee” for Type of Appointment, and type in “Star City Strong Recovery and Resiliency Advisory Panel” as their First Choice.  Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on July 16.

Additionally, residents are invited to participate in a virtual town hall about the City’s recovery efforts and use of funds from the American Rescue Plan Act.  The first of these will be held July 20 at Noon and the second on July 21 at 6 p.m.   Those interested in participating in the town halls are required to register with the City Manager’s Office via email at angela.o’brien@roanokeva.gov or by phone at 540-853-5309.  Registration must be complete by 5 p.m. on July 19.  The town halls will be livestreamed on the City’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/RoanokeVa
