Here are the top stories in Roanoke today:

  1. Costumes from the "Black Panther" film, Prada and Versace creations, and jewelry worn by celebrities like Lady Gaga and Rihanna can all be seen at the Taubman Museum of Art starting this weekend. This is all a part of the new series called "Fashioning the Future," a series of fashion-forward exhibitions that opens to the public on Sunday. Tickets are $10 for adults; children ages 17 and under are free. (WSLS 10)
  2. Those starting a new chapter in their lives while attempting to overcome homelessness, addiction, or crisis now have a safe place to go for shelter, COVID testing, and vaccinations, all in one place. ARCH's registered nurse, Melissa Miller, is now certified to complete onsite rapid COVID-19 testing and administer COVID-19 vaccines, eliminating barriers to vaccination for these vulnerable populations. The agency provides supportive recovery and opportunities for self-sufficiency after crisis to citizens in the Roanoke Valley. (WDBJ7)
  3. "Bad to the Bone" singer George Thorogood will be returning to Roanoke this December for a performance at the Berglund Center. (WDBJ7)
  4. Virginia's state-sponsored bus system is expanding again, now about to start a second daily round-trip along the I-81 corridor — and this one will make a stop in the Roanoke Valley. (WFIR News Talk Radio)
