Here are the top three stories today in Roanoke:
- Roanoke residents will have the opportunity to experience ceramics work created by well-known artists during the Women Working with Clay exhibit. The presentation is in conjunction with Hollins University's Women Working with Clay Symposium. The exhibit will be from May 6 through Jun. 16. (Roanoker)
- The Roanoke Police Department reported that 96 illegally possessed firearms have been seized in Roanoke so far this year. The report was issued to the Roanoke City Council on Monday during its afternoon session. Roanoke's RESET program was also deployed four times last month, according to the department. RESET is a group that responds to gun violence. (WSLS 10)
- Opera Roanoke will be honoring COVID-19 victims during its performance of Verdi's Requiem. Those suffering through war, especially the war raging in Ukraine, will be remembered as well. The performances will be hosted at the Jefferson Center from May 13 through May 15. (WDBJ)
