Here are the top three stories in Roanoke today:

  1. The Local Impact for Tomorrow Center opens its doors at Fallon Park Elementary School. The center provides resources for personal finance, oral health, physical health, and mental health. The resources are being provided by Carilion Clinic, Delta Dental of Virginia, Freedom First Credit Union, and Roanoke City Public Schools. (WDBJ)
  2. The Liberty Trust, a new hotel in a Roanoke landmark, is now open for business in downtown Roanoke. The hotel is a new boutique-style establishment that resides in the historic First National Bank building. The hotel features 54 guest rooms, with rooms costing between $160 to $500 per night. (WDBJ)
  3. The Wild Way is a Roanoke Valley nonprofit that wants to provide expedition-based outdoor experiences for local girls. The program is for girls between the ages of 9 and 14 across all backgrounds and experience levels. The nonprofit is focusing its two weeklong activities around the spring break schedules for Roanoke County and the Roanoke School district. (Roanoke Times)
