- Roanoke City Public Schools announced that all of its students are safe after a William Fleming High School student was found with a gun on campus yesterday. The school was placed on a "hold and secure" for nearly an hour, and an increased police presence was on the scene when students were released. No charges have been announced from the Roanoke Police Department at this time. (WSLS 10)
- The Roanoke Ballet Theatre has announced its upcoming production of Snow White. The show is described as a "perfect introduction to ballet," even for the youngest members of the family. The performance will be held on June 11 at the Jefferson Center. (Roanoker)
- The Roanoke County Police Department reported that a New Castle man has died in a motorcycle crash on Monday night in Roanoke County. Zachary Duncan, 22, reportedly struck a Toyota Tundra truck with his motorcycle at a high rate of speed. Authorities say the crash was not influenced by alcohol or drugs and the rider was wearing a helmet. (WDBJ7)
