Here are the top three stories today in Roanoke:
- Roanoke Times staffers have formed a new contract with Lee Enterprises. This is the second contract that the union representing the newsroom has drawn up since the union was formed in 2020 representing about 30 people. The new contract brings a 2 percent raise each year and establishes equity raises meant to address the pay gaps within the newsroom. (The Roanoke Star)
- United State Senator Mark Warner visited Roanoke City on Tuesday. The Senator visited the Wiley Drive Low Water Bridge with Roanoke Mayor Sherman Lea and the City Council. A press conference was held after the visit to address the Senator's bipartisan infrastructure law meant to fund bridges and roads throughout the state. (The Roanoke Star)
