Here are the top stories in Roanoke today:
- According to Roanoke police, no charges will be placed in the death of a motorcyclist. The crash, reported on Sept. 23 at the crossing of Fifth Street and Fairfax Avenue Northwest, occurred when a motorcycle and a vehicle collided. The collision killed 28-year-old motorcyclist Michael Trimmer of Roanoke. (Roanoke Times)
- Nearly 50 Jeeps, cars and motorcycles made their way down Main Street in Salem to support Kevin Hicks, a retired Roanoke County Sheriff's deputy. Hicks protected Roanoke County for more than 22 years as a deputy. Now, the community is giving back by raising funds to help with medical costs as he battles stage 4 kidney cancer. (WSLS 10)
