Here are the top stories today in Roanoke:
- The first annual Blue Ridge Country Music Festival was postponed due to COVID-19 concerns. Originally slated for Oct. 1-3, the festival has been moved to May 13-15 2022 at Danville's Blue Ridge Amphitheater. Already accounted for tickets, parking, camping and lockers will be reserved for the 2022 dates. (WDBJ7)
- A Roanoke organization will host Spanish music to recognize the Latinx community during Hispanic Heritage Month. NuFocus is an organization that helps raise the exposure and voices of underrepresented communities in Roanoke. To honor Latino culture, the company will play Spanish music on their website and their radio app from 8 to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday. (WSLS 10)
- A 2.6 magnitude earthquake struck four kilometers north of Lafayette on Monday morning. (WSET)
- A vaccinated Hidden Valley Middle School teacher, Jim Struzinsky, is battling a breakthrough case of COVID-19. (WDBJ7)
- The Roanoke Regional Airport recently announced several positive changes including added flights. (Roanoker)
