Here are the top three stories today in Roanoke:
- A broken water main caused Orange Avenue to be closed to travelers over the weekend. Western Virginia Water Authority crews worked overnight to attempt to repair the broken pipes. A posted detour was posted to divert traffic along Eastern Avenue NE while the repairs occurred. (WDBJ)
- A Pennsylvania-based transportation company, A. Duie Pyle, has opened a new facility in Roanoke. The facility on Salem Turnpike is responsible for providing housing and directly shipping products to the company's end-user customers. The company has announced that it will open two other facilities in the state. (WFIR News Talk Radio)
- A house fire in Northwest Roanoke has left one person dead. The fire occurred in the 3700 block of Greenland Ave. NW on Monday morning. According to responding fire crews, smoke and flames were billowing from the home's attic. The fire department has not released any additional information regarding the victim. (WSLS 10)
