Here are the top three stories in Roanoke today:

  1. The Pet Health Fair is this Saturday at the Berglund Center on Williamson Road. The fair will provide pet medical care for owners with limited resources. Participants will be able to receive vaccinations, microchips, nail trims, and heartworm tests for their furry friends. The fair starts and 10:00 a.m. and runs until 2:00 p.m. (WFIR News Talk Radio)
  2. A Roanoke woman died after being struck by a vehicle in Franklin County on Sunday morning. Lauren Virginia Davis, 25, was driving northbound on Route 220 when her car overturned off the side of the road after striking an embankment. Davis exited her vehicle and was then struck by a Volkswagen. The driver of the vehicle is not facing charges. (WSET)
  3. Roanoke gas prices continue to fall after hitting record highs last month. Gas is currently averaging $3.85 per gallon which is 26.1 cents lower than what the region was facing last month. Prices are still $1.22 higher when compared to the average in 2021. (WDBJ)
