Here are the top three stories today in Roanoke:
- The band Sugar Ray will be coming to Roanoke's Elmwood Park on July 3. Tickets to the exciting performance will go on sale to the public on Apr. 29 at the Berglund Center Box Office and online. Lead Singer Mark McGrath is asking everyone to have a fun time at their concert. (WDBJ)
- Roanoke residents will likely see visible smoke on the horizon due to a prescribed burn occurring in the Montvale area. The burn will reportedly close some trails and roads in the area, including a section of Blue Ridge Parkway. The U.S. Forest Service is asking residents to follow posted signs and obey the closures. - The Blue Ridge Orchid Society is hosting Orchids in the Square on Apr. 29 in the Atrium of the Center. The society will be showcasing about 200 different species of orchids. Admission to the event is free to the public. Guests will be able to purchase orchids from an on-site vendor. (WDBJ)
