Here are the top stories in Roanoke today:
- Roanoke City Schools will continue to require students, staff, and visitors to wear masks on school grounds and on buses, as "medically and developmentally appropriate." The announcement came after Governor Youngkin's Executive Order that was signed leaving that choice up to a parent's discretion.(WDBJ7)
- Cinque Fayette, one of two suspects in the murder of a Roanoke teenager, has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder. Fayette was charged in the killing of Savion Scales, 17, in September 2019. He entered a plea ahead of his trial that was set to begin this week, where he plead guilty to First-Degree Murder and Use of a firearm in commission of murder. (WDBJ7)
- A Roanoke man has died after a rollover crash last week in Halifax County while two other people were airlifted to Duke Medical Center in Raleigh with serious injuries. Last Wednesday,Virginia State Police responded to the intersection of James D. Hagood Highway and Terry's Bridge Road just before 2:00 p.m. 34-year-old Sean Keoughan, who was wearing his seatbelt, died at the scene. (WSET)
