Here are the top stories in Roanoke today:
- Roanoke police are investigating reports of a person throwing objects from the Liberty Road bridge at cars driving on Interstate 581. Lt. Eric Thiel said there have been about ten reports with at least five vehicles sustaining dents or broken windshields. Thiel said the person is usually throwing rocks, however, pieces of brick or concrete have also been found. There have been no arrests or charges and the issue is still ongoing. (Roanoke Times)
- A third adult has died following the August hepatitis-A outbreak at the Famous Anthony's in Roanoke, according to the Virginia Department of Health. At this time, RCAHD staff have identified a total of 49 confirmed primary cases, including 31 hospitalizations. The first death was reported Oct. 15. (WDBJ7)
- Two Roanoke groups are organizing a Votercade at the Burlington Store parking lot near Hershberger Road this morning starting at 11 a.m. (WDBJ7)
- Roanoke County police are reminding parents to go through their child's candy bag and read labels carefully because of the increased access to the Delta-8 form of THC. (WDBJ7)
- Roanoke College has reported it has received its largest-ever cash donation from an alumnus at $15 million. (Roanoke Times)
