- Roanoke City will be cleaning multiple roads during its Star City Safe Cleanup Project on Apr. 30. The areas cleaned will be Hershberger Road to Gainsboro Road and from I-81 to Shenandoah Avenue. The Roanoke City Solid Waste Management Division be collect unwanted clutter from residential curbs Saturday morning. (WDBJ)
- The leader of the Roanoke City and Alleghany Health District, Dr. Cynthia Morrow, says that the area's COVID-19 rate is still good despite a recent increase. According to the CDC standards, the area is still in the "green" zone. Dr. Morrow says that information regarding COVID-19 vaccines for children under 5 years of age should become available next month. (WDBJ)
- The Roanoke City Council held a public meeting to discuss the recent increase in personal property tax bills. Some residents have been very concerned due to the 20 percent average increase that seemingly blindsided the region. The city's commissioner has claimed that the increase is due to the recent car supply shortage increasing the market value of a vehicle. (WSLS 10)
