After 10 years together, a Northern Virginia couple a few votes away from winning a dream prize — and their community can help make it happen.
Sheryn Reid and Elliot Richards first locked eyes at a Starbucks in Northern Virginia back in 2014. What started as casual conversation over the coffee bar grew into a decade-long love story filled with cross-country trips to music festivals, late-night talks, and eventually, a proposal under the stars in Sedona, Arizona.
Now married, the couple is a week away from becoming national quarterfinalists in a “America's Favorite Couple” competition, operated by Colossal and hosted by Jeff & Emilie Goldblum for charity — and they need community votes to win.

“This prize would mean the world to us,” says Sheryn. “We’ve dreamed of giving our Yorkie, Jax, a real yard to run around in. Right now, we’re renting without a dedicated enclosed outdoor space, so this could help us finally buy our first home and stay in the Northern Virginia area.”
The contest offers a $20,000 prize, and the couple plans to use it for a down payment on a house — and to finish paying off their long-awaited honeymoon.
In addition to celebrating love, the America’s Favorite Couple competition raises awareness and funds for two important causes: the Los Angeles Food Bank, which supports thousands of families facing food insecurity, and Oceana, a leading nonprofit dedicated to protecting and restoring the world’s oceans. Every vote not only brings Sheryn and Elliot closer to winning their dream prize but also contributes to these impactful organizations. By supporting the couple, voters are helping make a difference in their community and the environment.

Semi-final cuts happen Thursday, August 21 at 10 pm ET and each couple needs to be in first place to move on. Free vote refreshes every 24 hours.
Voting is open now through September 4 for ultimate final round and it’s free to vote once per day.
