A high-end Italian restaurant is set to open in the Merrifield neighborhood August 6.
Ovvio Osteria will feature pasta, entrees, pizzas, and specialty cocktails, according to a press release from the restaurant. The restaurant will open in the Halstead Square center on 2727 Merrilee Drive.
Chef and partner Chris Watson will be at the helm. Eater D.C. reports that Watson was previously a chef at Brabo in Alexandria.

Ovvio will serve dinner to start, with lunch and brunch hours to follow. Dinner service hours of operation are: Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Thursday, Friday and Saturday 4 p.m. to midnight.
The same mixed-use development is home to apartments and restaurants Cave Mezze and the BlackFinn Ameripub, both of which opened earlier this year.
