Sweetgreen to Open in McLean Wednesday

Customers can "pay what they want" on opening day.

Salad restaurant Sweetgreen opens in McLean Wednesday—and for the first few hours customers can pay what they want.

The restaurant will open at 6707 Old Dominion Drive. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., guests can pay what they want to pay with proceeds benefitting FRESHFARM Markets. FRESHFARM works to promote the local-food movement, according to their website.

Sweetgreen, founded in D.C. in 2007, bills itself as a farm-to-table salad shop with a focus on sustainability. They now have 20 locations in D.C., Maryland, Philadelphia, Boston, and New York City.
