Sweetgreen to Open in Tyson's Corner

The salad shop is coming to the Tyson's Galleria.

Salad shop Sweetgreen has announced they’ll be opening two new locations in Northern Virginia—one in Tyson’s Corner and another in McLean.

The restaurants are set to open this winter. They will set up shop in Tyson’s Galleria as a free-standing kiosk. The McLean location will be on 6707 Old Dominion Drive.

Sweetgreen, founded in D.C. in 2007, bills itself as a farm-to-table salad shop with a focus on sustainability. They now have 20 locations in D.C., Maryland, Philadelphia, Boston, and New York City.

On opening day at both new locations, Sweetgreen will allow guests to “Pay What You Want” until 4 p.m. with the proceeds going to FRESHFARM Markets. FRESHFARM works to promote the local-food movement, according to their website.

Sweetgreen has not settled on an exact opening date just yet.
