Armed Robbery In Vienna Leads To Charges For 2 Men
An April armed robbery led to charges for two men in Vienna, plus see the most recent police incidents in the town crime report.

VIENNA, VA — Vienna Police have made two arrests in an April armed robbery.
The armed robbery happened April 9 in the 300 block of Cabin Road SE, according to police. According to the weekly crime report, the victim had been picked up by an acquaintance and two other men at the shopping center with Giant Food. As they were driving around, the men displayed guns and took the victim's belongings, police say. The victim was able to exit the vehicle, and the suspects fled the area. Police did not specify what was taken from the victim.
Vienna Police conducted an investigation to identify the suspects using security camera footage from residents, interviews, photo lineups, search warrants and electronic data. Arrest warrants were obtained in early June for the suspects, Damond Albert Brown and Ilon Edward Coles Melson, of Washington, DC.

On June 22, DC Metropolitan Police and Vienna detectives arrested Brown and found a loaded gun on his bed, according to police. Melson was arrested on June 28 by DC Metropolitan Police with Vienna detectives. The two men are charged with armed robbery.
Melson has been extradited to Virginia, and Brown is awaiting extradition.

June 24 between 8:55 a.m. and 9:05 a.m. An employee reported that a man attempted to steal a donation box. An employee confronted the man and he left the store without taking anything. Officers located the man in the area of Center Street and Locust Street. The employees did not wish to pursue charges for the larceny but requested that the officers trespass the man. The officers advised the man that he would be charged with trespass if he returned to the store.
Crash: Maple Avenue and Glyndon Street, SE 22-006518
June 27 10:05 a.m.
Two vehicles were traveling eastbound on Maple Avenue in adjacent lanes. Vehicle-2 attempted to change lanes from the right lane to the left lane and slowed to turn left into a parking lot at 256 Maple Avenue. Vehicle-1 ran into the rear of Vehicle-2. A passenger in Vehicle-2 was transported by rescue personnel with non-life-threatening injuries

June 29 8:55 p.m.
Vehicle-1 was exiting the Wawa parking lot. Pedestrian-1 was in a power wheelchair traveling
eastbound on the sidewalk that crosses the parking lot. Vehicle-1 was beginning to enter Maple
Avenue when he saw the pedestrian and attempted to stop but made contact with the wheelchair
causing it to fall over. Police did not share information on injuries.

June 30 5:05 a.m.
A citizen reported that she was sitting in her vehicle in the lower parking lot of the country club waiting for her son when she heard a noise and found that three men were tampering with her vehicle. The citizen began sounding the vehicle horn and the men immediately got into their vehicle and fled the parking lot. Officers searched the area but did not locate the men.
