Coronavirus: Inova Opens 3 Respiratory Illness Clinics In NoVA

TYSONS, VA — On March 25, three respiratory illness clinics opened at three Inova Urgent Care centers in Northern Virginia as a place to test for the new coronavirus, or COVID-19. The clinics in Chantilly, Arlington and Tysons allow staff to evaluate patients with respiratory illness symptoms as well as collect samples for doctor-ordered testing. Patients should first contact their doctor for an evaluation before visiting a clinic.

Inova Urgent Care Center at North Arlington and Tysons will exclusively be respiratory illness clinics, while Inova's other urgent care centers will be open to all patients. The three respiratory clinics are open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

To get started, contact your regular doctor for an evaluation. The doctor will evaluate your symptoms to determine if you will be tested based on COVID-19 testing criteria. The doctor may provide a testing order or refer you to the Inova Respiratory Illness Clinic for evaluation.

When a patient arrives at the Inova Respiratory Illness Clinic, a clinician will meet at his or her vehicle to take the patient into the respiratory clinic for evaluation or sample collection. If a patient undergoes testing, the results will take an estimated four to seven days. An urgent care nurse will contact the patient if the result is negative. For a positive COVID-19 result, the nurse will coordinate with the patient's regular doctor for further instructions.
