VIENNA, VA — Vienna Police responded to a number of incidents in recent weeks, including a driver with a hatchet and vehicle break-ins.
The incident with the hatchet happened on Feb. 9 in the 1400 block of Desale Street. According to police, a resident was on the sidewalk with his dog waiting for a vehicle to pass before crossing the street. Police say the driver was "agitated" and yelled at the resident before driving away. The vehicle returned a few minutes later, and the driver ended up taking a hatchet from his vehicle trunk and chased the resident, police say. When others came out of the resident's home, the driver got into his vehicle and drove away.
