  • Djembe Drumming & Drama: Children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade create musical tales through drama, movement, and song in this eight-week session. Participants will interpret fables and develop creative rhythms on their own djembe drums. Traditional African stories inspire a final performance where children showcase drumming techniques learned in class.

            Saturdays, January 14 – March 3

  • African Drumming: Adults will learn the rhythmic patterns, phrases, and techniques of one of the most prominent West African drumming traditions in a comfortable group setting.

            Tuesdays, February 7– April 10

  • Community Drum Circle: Adults of all ages and skill level learn drumming techniques on a West African djembe drum during this special one-night event.  Together, the group organically evolves its own unique rhythm. Experiencing an African drum circle in a comfortable group setting is a unique opportunity for everyone from experienced drummers to percussion novices.

      Tuesday, January 31, 7 p.m.

  • Group Guitar: Teens and adults will learn guitar fundamentals—keys, chords, strum patterns, and fingerpicking—as well as the history of the instrument, notation, and traditional musical styles in this 12-week class. Concepts will be applied to songs and appropriate chord progressions.

            Mondays, January 23 – April 9
