In The Lobby Bar: Lauren Shera + David Ramirez (FREE SHOW)

Music has played an integral part in Lauren Shera's life from the very beginning. The New York native grew up surrounded by an eclectic range of performers. Her original songs and soulful voice combine to create a sound that is both powerful and melancholy. Armed with a luscious vibrato, Lauren's voice is a uniquely distinctive. In 2011, Shera performed at Bonnaroo and was also hand-picked by Ben Lovett of Mumford & Sons to be one of three artists to introduce his renowned artist collective, Communion, to the United States. Lauren has shared the stage with such artists as Ray LaMontagne, Jackie Greene, Jason Mraz, Phil Lesh, Wanda Jackson, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Shawn Colvin, Billy Bragg, Nanci Griffith, Kristin Hersh, Joan Osborne and Abigail Washburn. In addition to Bonnaroo, she has appeared at the High Sierra Music Festival, Sausalito Music and Arts Festival, Monterey Music Summit and South by Southwest. When she was 18-years-old she was also invited to perform at the Bob Dylan Tribute Concert at New York City's Avery Fisher Hall. When she isn't performing solo, Shera performs with the Monterey-based female trio Honeymoon.

From his teen years swapping songs with friends in Houston to the struggles of making a name for himself in Nashville, David's songwriting journey has spanned multiple EP's and a full-length, American Soil which garnered over 1,200 downloads in a 48-hr. period on Noisetrade. In 2010, David played 150 shows on numerous, independently booked tours. Feeling truly at home on the road, he calls his second home Austin, Texas. It's here where he wrote and recorded his latest release, Strangetown EP. The songs, with their heart-yearning lyrics and sparse musical backdrop, tells things as he sees them: honest, unfiltered and true. David Ramirez knows no luxury. He wants no satisfaction. All he needs is an acoustic guitar and the words in his mouth to tell the true stories of a wandering man. But to see him live, with only that acoustic guitar in hand, spitting those words into rings of fire, is to experience something real....something that cannot be reproduced.
