The Advent Project in Concert, June 17, 2012 at 3:00 pm, Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Vienna, VA.
Following a wildly successful inaugural concert in December 2011, The Advent Project will present their second concert on 6/17/2012 at 3 pm in the church at Our Lady of Good Counsel.
The choir and orchestra, under the direction of Richard Allen Roe, will perform one of Bach's Easter cantatas, Christ lag in Todesbanden (Christ lay in death's bonds), BWV 4, and Schubert's Mass Number 2 in G Major, D 167. In addition, Mr. Roe will conduct Bach's cantata Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen (Praise God in all lands), BWV 51, featuring soprano soloist Lisa Berger, professor at George Mason University, and trumpet soloist Stanley Curtis of the U.S. Navy Band.
The Advent Project Choir draws singers from around the region -- from as far south as Fredericksburg and as far north as Baltimore -- to perform high quality sacred music. This concert, falling on Father's Day, is free of charge and a great way to treat all fathers (and everyone else!) to an afternoon of fine music.
