The Choir Boys took 40 years, an idea, and two phone calls to form.
Jon Mervine, Dave Rees, and John Stanard met 40 years ago in Vienna, Virginia while going to the same High School, singing in the same choir, and traveling in the same Rock and Roll circles.
Back then, Jon played in bands with Dave, Jon played in bands with John, but the three never joined forces until this year.

Jon had the idea to form a group focusing on strong harmonies, classic "unplugged" Rock and originals with excellent supporting instrumentation.
Once the idea was formed, the rest was easy.

Having stayed in touch with John over the years, he came to mind first. With Jon on piano, John Stanard would sing harmonies and play guitar (hope you're not getting lost in the "Johns").
Then we needed a high strong voice and an excellent bass player. Nobody but Dave Rees would do!
Two phone calls later with an immediate YES! from John and Dave, The Choir Boys were formed.
Playing a variety of unplugged versions of vocal oriented classic rock and originals, the feedback has been great:
