Fairfax County Public Schools Decide On Classes For Jan. 26
The winter storm forced Fairfax County Public Schools to make a schedule decision for Monday classes.
FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Due to the state of emergency in Virginia and the forecast for snow and sleet through Monday morning, all Fairfax County Public Schools and offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26.
The following activities in schools and on school grounds are canceled:
- Extracurricular activities
- Interscholastic contests
- Team practices
- Field trips
- Middle school after-school programs
- Professional learning and training courses
- Adult High School and GED
- Adult and Community Education (ACE) classes
- Recreation programs and community use by outside groups not affiliated with FCPS
- Homebound instruction
School Age Child Care and Beyond the Bell centers are also closed.

In accordance with Regulation 4810, employees designated as essential personnel should follow supervisor direction. Emergency administrative leave is authorized for all other personnel.
