Summer Meals
Fairfax County continues its programs to provide meals for needy children through the summer, and have posted the following information on this year’s site:
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) summer food service program for children was to ensure that students who qualify for free and reduced price meals during the school year continue to receive nutritious meals during the summer. Free meals that meet federal nutrition guidelines will be provided to children at approved sites throughout Fairfax County.

Finally, as the old saying goes, “Blessed are they who toot their own horns, lest the same not be tooted”, we draw your attention to this wonderful story done by Channel 9 about Food for Others a couple of weeks ago. http://www.wusa9.com/life/community/herocentral/article/264228/264/HERO-CENTRAL-Food-For-Others-Saves-Families-from-Hunger-
Since Food for Others is a community effort of donors, volunteers, and staff, there are a lot of heroes who can feel proud of the work we do together.
