Free Intro to NIA: Energize and Promote Ease
Saturday January 4
2:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Come
discover why more and more people are taking up NIA -- a powerful
fitness practice taught worldwide that blends the elements of the Dance
Arts (jazz, modern and Duncan dance), the Martial Arts (Tae Kwon Do, Tai
Chi and Aikido), and the Healing Arts (yoga, Feldenkrais, and Alexander
Technique) to give you a mind-body experience that conditions the whole
body and gives you a sense of greater well-being.

You will learn a classical NIA routine, and be encouraged to modify and personalize the movements to maximize the benefits.

These include:

  • A good overall workout! NIA uses all body parts!
  • Improves body comfort & function
  • Helps you maintain mobility & stability
  • Increases cardiovascular strength
  • Non-impact and safe for the joints
  • Adaptable for every age, fitness level & body type
Wear
comfortable clothing that you can move in. This class is done barefoot,
but if you have any foot injuries, you may wear soft-sole sneakers or
Jazz shoes. Bring plenty of water!
