Greater Reston Arts Center Receives Grant for 2016 Gallery
The Arts Center will use one of 17 Fairfax County Project Support Grants to host a three-month gallery for the work of Shih Chieh Huang.

The Greater Reston Arts Center was named one of 17 Fairfax County non-profit arts organizations to earn a 2016 Project Support Grant from the Arts Council of Fairfax County.
The grant will support a 2016 gallery featuring the work of artist Shih Chieh Huang.
The Greater Reston Arts Center will present Huang’s work in an exhibition titled “Transformations,” and it will run from April 22 until July 9, 2016.

“Thanks to this generous grant from the Arts Council of Fairfax County, we are delighted to bring Huang’s work to the Reston community and to Fairfax County,” Holly Koons McCullough, Executive Director and Curator at the Greater Reston Arts Center, said in a media release. “Inspired in part by phosphorescent deep sea creatures, Huang’s interactive installations are a mesmerizing blend of art, science, and technology.”
Huang is based out of New York City, and his work has featured “interactive elements” including LED lights, motion sensors, computer parts, screens and more.

“The Arts Council’s grant programs provide vital funds for basic operation of local arts organizations and recognize the valuable programs and services they provide to Fairfax County residents,” Linda S. Sullivan, President and CEO of the Arts Council of Fairfax County, said in the release.
The Greater Reston Arts Center is located on Market Street in Reston.
