The proposed county budget calls for a one-cent real estate tax cut, which would make the real estate tax rate $1.14 per $100 of assessed value. But based on increased property assessment values, the average real estate tax bill could go up by $224. The Board of Supervisors will hold public hearings on April 13 to 15, mark-up of the budget on April 27, and adoption on May 4.

Residents can find out more about participating in budget public hearing by contacting the Clerk to the Board's Office at 703-324-3151 or registering to speak through an online form. Written testimony can also be provided by email, phone or video submission.
