Identity Of Rape Suspect In Tysons Sought By Police
Police are working to identify a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in a Tysons hotel room.

TYSONS, VA — An armed man who allegedly raped a woman at a Tysons hotel is wanted by Fairfax County Police.
The alleged incident happened on Oct. 1 at a hotel in the 8600 block of Westwood Center Drive, Vienna. Around 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a man who sexually assaulted a woman and displayed a gun in a hotel room. Police say the hotel room was unlocked when the man entered, physically and sexually assaulted the victim and fled.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries. Evidence was collected and sent to the Department of Forensic Services.
A man acquainted with the victim spotted the suspect and chased him, according to police. However, the suspect escaped while pointing a gun at the man.

Detectives obtained surveillance footage of the suspect from different locations. The suspect had entered the Metro at the Eastern Market station, switched to the Silver Line at the Capitol South station and exited at the Spring Hill station. After the alleged assault, the suspect entered the Spring Hill station, switched to the Red Line at Metro Center and took the Red Line in the direction of Glenmont.
The suspect is described as a Black man around 25 to 40 years-old, 5 foot 8 to 6 foot, with a heavy build, and short curly black hair partially dyed blonde. Detectives believe the suspect lives in the Washington, DC area.
