This Saturday, the 28th of September, we are having a great kids “Fun with Air Day” in front of the Market. From 8 am to noon celebrate with us and Faith Baptist Church with a moon bounce and free cotton candy—come to 301 Center Street South for this free event. Then visit us at the market – in the front—grab a cup of coffee at Caffe Amouri, salsa and homemade chips at Salas Las Glorias and then homemade Mexican breakfast or crepes at Reubens Crepes at the Market or Donuts at Mama’s Donut Bites—OR Do as Farmer Dave does, head first to the back of the market for pumpkins, gourds, tomatoes, corn, jams, jellies, granola, dips, etc. This week’s vendor is extra special!
Fresh Crunch LLC is our featured vendor this week and this vendor had such an original concept that the owner, Matt Bressan has already auditioned for television’s SHARK TANK. You can view one version of it on YouTube. The main feature of Fresh Crunch is of course, pickles—all kinds and pickled vegetables including pickled beets and onions. When I last spoke to Matt he told me his plans for next year include a mustard pickle. If you come to the Vienna Farmers Market you’ll meet and buy from Heidi, an outstanding and gorgeous employee. He started the business in 2007 and his focus is a fresh product without preservatives. He concentrates instead on the crunch. He buys locally and makes his items in small quantities to keep the quality.
Stop by and see Heidi soon and see what is special about these pickles. We are so lucky to have Fresh Crunch at the market! It’s an artisan pickle but it is also a pickle like your grandma used to make. Since its canning season this is the perfect season to stock up on these wonderful items. All you pickle lovers out there come on down and visit us. Sample your favorite homemade pickles—classic dills, sours, sweethots, pickled beets, etc. See you Saturday or right here next week. Oh and check out the first winning entries of the market sponsored McLeaf's Orchard photo contest. Its not too late to enter! Send your entries to manager@viennafarmersmarket.com. Thanks Farmer SJ
