Congrats to Sachin Satishkumar for finishing in top 25 and earning a medal! He finished 24th, just barely missing one of the trophies for top 20 players in the State, and his score was a huge help for the overall Team results.

Kudos to Albert Huang (and his Mom) for spontaneously changing plans and coming to join the team halfway through the tournament when the power went out at home and his band activities were canceled. Coming late and missing half the tournament made it impossible to catch up and score enough for any awards, but showed true dedication to the team. He gets our vote for the team player award!

Congrats to Amit Krishnaiyer (1st) and Rohan Iyer (2nd) for winning trophies for finishing as the Top 2 “Unrated" players (i.e., best new players) in the State, in their first ever chess tournament! What a way to start!!

Andy Huang and Garrett Heller are also the co-founders and co-coaches of the Kilmer Chess Club and co-captains of the Kilmer Chess Team. Thank you for their dedication in creating lesson plans every week for the students in the Chess Club, organizing this trip, and making this all possible. #KilmerMS

This was an entire team effort and everyone did a fantastic job!!
