Lidl Opening New Store Near Vienna In Tysons

VIENNA, VA — Lidl, a discount grocer with U.S. headquarters based in Arlington, will open its newest Northern Virginia location in Tysons just outside Vienna.

The new Lidl will open Wednesday, Oct. 4 at at 8387 Leesburg Pike, C, Vienna, VA. There will be a ribbon cutting at 7:45 a.m., followed by a grand opening with specials for customers.

When the store opens at 8 a.m., the first 100 customers in line will get a gift card with a value ranging between $5 and $100. There will be special giveaways in store as well. During the grand opening weekend, Lidl will donate $1 to Capital Area Food Bank for every new myLidl member who signs up with the new store as their home store.

Ahead of the store opening, Lidl will host an open house on Oct. 3 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Attendees can enjoy games, face painting for children, tours of the store, product samples and more.

Hours at the store will be 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

The store will employ 35 workers with starting pay at $18.50 per hour for associates. Benefits for workers include health care for all full-and-part-time positions regardless of hours worked.

Lidl is a discount grocer with more than 12,000 stores in 32 counties. In the U.S. it operates 170 stores across nine states on the East Coast. Stores have a wide range of products, including organic and gluten-free offerings, specialty items like cheeses and cured meats, Lidl's private label products, fresh fruit and vegetables, and fresh bread and pastries.
