Man Charged With Abducting, Assaulting His Mother: Police

Here's a look at some of the incidents reported in this week's crime report from the local police.

VIENNA, VA -- A Vienna man is being held without bond in the Fairfax County jail on charges that he assaulted and stole property from his mother, according to a police report.

Vienna police arrested the 22-year-old man after they responded at 7:39 p.m. Wednesday to the report of a suspicious event at a home on Hillcrest Drive SW, the police report stated. When they arrived, they were met by the unidentified man and his mother, and they determined "the mother had been abducted, assaulted, had property stolen, and her 911 communication disrupted," the police report said.

The man was charged with abduction, assault and battery of a family member, grand larceny, and intent to prevent another person from summoning law enforcement.

The following are other incidents reported by police in their weekly report released Friday:

Arrest - Drunk In Public 16-004908: Outback Steakhouse - 315 Maple Avenue, East - June 9 6:21 p.m. The store manager called to report two disruptive male subjects at the restaurant. When officers spoke with the subjects they observed signs of possible impairment. One of the male subjects agreed to leave, while the other became combative. The 52-year-old man from Gallows Road, Dunn Loring was arrested for drunk in public. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Arrest - Drunk In Public 16-004909: ABC Store, 436 Maple Ave. East - June 9 7:06 p.m. The store manager called to report a possibly intoxicated male subject inside the store. When Ofc. Post spoke with the male subject, she observed signs of possible impairment. The 32-year-old male subject from Hillcrest Drive SW, Vienna was arrested for being drunk in public. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Animal Case 16-004912: 300 Block West Street, NW - June 9 8:57 p.m. Ofc. Post responded for a possible sickly raccoon. When she got to the listed address she met with several citizens who said they saw the raccoon acting abnormal. Ofc. Post located the raccoon and determined it was sickly. The raccoon was euthanized.

Arrest – Drunk In Public 16-004950: 100 Block Patrick Street, SE - June 10 7:34 p.m. Officers responded to a dispute among family members. When they arrived, they spoke with a male subject who was acting disorderly and showing signs of possible impairment. The 21-year-old male subject from Patrick Street SE, Vienna was arrested for being drunk in public. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Assist Fire/EMS 16-004953: 100 Block Patrick Street, SE - June 10, 11 p.m. Officers responded to the listed address for several intoxicated subjects. When the officers arrived, they found four adult males and one adult female who were all showing signs of possible impairment. Fairfax County EMS arrived and transported two male subjects and one female subject with non-life threatening injuries.

Arrest – Driving While Intoxicated 16-004956: 7-11, 537 Maple Ave. West - June 11 1:33 p.m. Ofc. Herrera was patrolling the area surrounding the 7-11 when he observed a vehicle in the parking lot driving erratically. When the vehicle parked and the driver exited the vehicle, the driver appeared to show signs of possible impairment. Ofc. Herrera made contact with the driver and offered standard field sobriety tests, which he failed. The 27-year-old male driver from Berryland Drive, Oakton was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Arrest - Domestic Assault 16-004933: Casmar Street, SE - June 12 9:53 p.m. Officers responded to the listed address for a domestic assault. When they arrived, they spoke with both a male and female subject. The male subject stated he and his wife got in to an argument. Officers then spoke with the female subject, who stated her husband struck her. Ofc. Bulti observed visible marks on the female subject. The 66-year-old male subject from Casmar Street, SE was arrested for assault and battery of a family member. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Arrest – Drunk In Public 16-005011: Norm’s Beer and Wine, 136 Branch Road, SE. June 12, 11 p.m. Officers responded to the listed address for a business alarm. While on scene, they located a male subject outside of the business who showed signs of possible impairment. While Ofc. Herrea was speaking with the subject; he observed several empty alcoholic beverage containers on the ground. The 52-year-old male subject, without a fixed address, was arrested for being drunk in public and littering. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Arrest – Sexual Assault 16-005017: Cedar Lane, SE June 13 2:40 a.m. A resident called to report they thought they heard an active fight at their neighbor’s residence. When officers arrived, they spoke with a female subject who advised there was an altercation. As Ofc. Reedy continued to investigate, he determined a sexual assault had occurred between a male and female subject. The 20-year-old male subject from Ticonderoga Court, Burke was arrested for object sexual penetration and being drunk in public. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and held on no bond.

Narcotics Violation 16-005098: Cedar Lane School - 101 Cedar Lane, SW. June 6, 11:55 a.m. Ofc. Slebonick went to Cedar Lane School for a narcotics violation involving a juvenile male student. A measureable amount of marijuana was located. The juvenile subject will be referred to the Fairfax County Juvenile Intake Office.

Crash - Beulah Road and Church Street, NE 16-005116: June 15 5:58 p.m. The first vehicle was traveling west on Church Street NE. The second vehicle was traveling south on Beulah Road NE. The first vehicle collided with the second vehicle in the intersection of Church Street and Beulah Road NE. The male driver of the first vehicle was issued a summons for not paying full time and attention.
