Man Flees From Stolen Vehicle Across I-66: Police

The incident caused lane closures on I-66, but all lanes have reopened.

OAKTON, VA — A stolen vehicle traffic stop on Interstate 66 led to lane closures Thursday morning, according to Fairfax County Police.

WTOP Traffic reported that the lane closures started after 5 a.m. for the police incident. Fairfax County Police say a man fled from a stolen vehicle when police made a traffic stop on eastbound I-66 past Chain Bridge Road. The man reportedly ran across I-66 in the direction of Oakton High School.

Officers remained in the area to search for the man. No suspect description was provided. All I-66 lanes were reported to be open after 7 a.m.
