Motorist Nabbed After Injuring Two Other Drivers in Hit-and-Run: Police

Here's a look at some of the incidents reported in this week's crime report from the local police.

VIENNA, VA -- The Vienna Police helped apprehend an unidentified motorist last week who crashed into a pair of vehicles on a town street, injuring the drivers, and then fled the scene.

The town police did not release the male driver's name, age or address in the weekly police report released Friday, June 10. Officers obtained warrants for his arrest on felony and misdemeanor hit and run, and the driver faces other charges in Fairfax County.

The police responded at 4:43 p.m. Thursday, June 2, to the scene of the collisions in the 400 block of Maple Avenue West, according to the weekly police report. Several people reported that multiple vehicles had been hit and the striking vehicle had driven away. Officers found that two vehicles had been struck, and their drivers "were suffering from non-life-threatening injuries," the report said.

Witnesses at both accident scenes gave police matching descriptions of the striking vehicle, which were then broadcast to surrounding jurisdictions. The vehicle was located in Fairfax County, the police report said. Fairfax County police arrested the driver on separate charges.
