VIENNA, VA — For the first time, the Town of Vienna will recognize multicultural winter holiday traditions with a new holiday display lottery

A lottery process will be held to accept holiday display ideas for the Freeman Store lawn near the Town Green. Residents are invited to submit their holiday display ideas for the chance of theirs appearing next to the grand holiday tree. The decorated tree will be located on the Freeman Store lawn. Up to three displays will be chosen through a lottery process.

“We live in a multicultural community, and we wanted to provide an opportunity for various winter holiday traditions to be honored in our public space," said Vienna Town Manager Mercury Payton in a statement. "Residents from all walks of life gather on the Town Green for celebrations throughout the year, and we look forward to seeing various festive displays that represent our diverse community during the season of light."
