New Hot Chicken Restaurant Opening At Former Vienna McDonald's

VIENNA, VA — A new hot chicken restaurant will bring the heat to a vacant restaurant space formerly occupied by McDonald's in Vienna.

As first reported by Tysons Reporter, The Red Bird will open at the Cedar Park Shopping Center in the former McDonald's space. The franchise serves up chicken with varying levels of spice with options of sandwiches and tenders paired with sides, drinks and desserts. The chicken is halal certificated, which means it is prepared in a way that follows Islamic beliefs. The restaurant uses a secret recipe and day-long marinade to prepare its chicken.

Hot chicken has been a growing cuisine in Northern Virginia. Near Vienna, there are Dave's Hot Chicken and Roaming Rooster locations in Tysons, while Oakton has Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken.
