New Vienna Town Council Swearing In Set For January 2024
New and returning Vienna Town Council members will be sworn in during a ceremony in early January.

VIENNA, VA — New and returning members of Vienna Town Council will join a swearing in ceremony on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
The ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. on Jan. 2 at Vienna Town Hall, 127 Center St. S, Vienna, VA. The public is invited to attend.
All six Town Council seats were up for election on Nov. 7, in addition to mayor, in which Linda Colbert ran unopposed. Colbert was re-elected, along with incumbent Councilmembers Howard Springsteen, Chuck Anderson and Ray Brill. New Town Council members elected are Jessica Ramakis, Roy Baldwin and Sandra Allen.

Current Town Council members who did not seek re-election are Nisha Patel, Steve Potter and Ed Somers.
This will be the first time the entire Town Council and mayor are sworn in at the same time. Vienna's town elections used to happen in May but changed to November due to a new Virginia law. All Vienna Town Council seats are on the ballot at the same time instead of previous staggered terms. Town Council seats will continue to be elected in Novembers every two years starting in 2023.

The Jan. 2 meeting is for the swearing in ceremony for Town Council only. The next regular meeting of Town Council is Monday, Jan. 8.
