Oakton High School Theatre Presents: Two Western Comedy Tales.

This year, the Oakton High School Theatre Arts Department will be taking audiences 200 years back in time for its two fall shows. So sit back, keep your boat from capsizing, and come see Men on Boats and Wild Oats this November.
Drawing on real-life events from the 1869 Powell expedition into the Grand Canyon, Men on Boats is the story of a group of brave American explorers charting alien lands with nothing but a few supplies and their own wits to protect them. It’s also an entirely female-cast play. Men on Boats is directed by Abby Cortez and Camilla Martinez. The show is produced in their auditorium on November 7, 8, and 9 at 7pm.
Blending Shakespearean language with Old-West antics, Wild Oats tells the tale of a traveling actor’s involvement in a crazy scheme involving outlaws, gunfights, and a love story sure to keep audiences laughing and entertained throughout. With identity swaps galore and a talented cast to bring the mind-boggling plot together, Wild Oats is a play that fits perfectly between Shakespearean comedy and an entertaining Western work. Wild Oats is directed by Carson Cullen, Sarah Madison, and Bishop Gabriel. Showtimes November 21, 22, and 23 at 7pm.
